Hopeton Lindo shares personal testimony on new EP ‘A Miracle’

While never overly religious, Hopeton Lindo has always been a person of faith. Those beliefs served him well during a period of grief that inspired his most personal work.

A Miracle, the singer-songwriter’s six-song EP, was released on August 21. It is produced by Irie Pen Records, Lindo’s company.

For the man who co-wrote and wrote party anthems like Telephone Love for J C Lodge, and ballads such as Red Rose For Gregory for Gregory Isaacs, A Miracle is a sombre project that hits close to home.

“This project is my most personal; it’s a testimony giving God thanks for a miracle. I did this EP to help strengthen anyone going through a difficult time,” said Lindo.

“It can be emotional writing and singing these songs, especially if it involves family and I hope people listening will find comfort in these uplifting songs. God is the greatest; never give up. Just pray and believe miracles come through,” he added.

A Miracle contains the gospel-influenced title song, with backing vocals by Brian and Tony Gold. There is also Cover Me, a collaboration with Lindo, the singer’s son; Believe; Walking Miracle; Testify and the previously released Mental Health Awareness which features Anthony Malvo.

Contributing to A Miracle are musicians Paul Gauntlett, Robbie Lyn and JonFX, and singers Fiona and ShaunaDazzle.
