NROCC says MoBay Bypass site death being treated with ‘utmost seriousness’
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The National Road Operating and Constructing Company Limited (NROCC) says the death of an engineer on site at the Montego Bay Perimeter Road Project is being taken seriously.
The company says it is deeply saddened by the death of the engineer who was an employee of SJE Consultants Limited, following a tragic incident at the project site on Thursday.
Reports are that the man was run over by a vehicle on the site.
NROCC extended its deepest condolences to the man’s family, loved ones, colleagues and all those who worked alongside him.
“Our thoughts are with them during this extremely difficult time,” it said.
The company stressed that the incident is being treated with the utmost seriousness.
“A thorough investigation is being conducted into the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident. The safety and well-being of all persons working on NROCC’s projects are of paramount importance to the agency,” it said.
Minister of Works Robert Morgan also indicated that an investigation has been launched into the incident.
