After 12 tries this season with close finishes, four-year-old chestnut filly You’re My Sweetie finally got her picture taken in 2026, winning a Restricted Allowance V contest at Caymanas Park on Saturday, September 12.

The Gary Subratie-trained filly, ridden by Dane Dawkins, came from off the pace to score by 2 lengths over 5½ furlongs (1,100m) in a time of 1:09.3. The splits were 23.4, 49.1, 1:02.4. The race was for native-bred four-year-olds and upward, non-winners of two, along with imported four-year-olds and upward maidens.

It was only the second career win from 26 starts for You’re My Sweetie, who has now earned in excess of $1.3 million in Stakes.

Unable to match the early speed, You’re My Sweetie settled in mid-pack as Moonlight Song (Evertte Clunis) led Raging River (Tevin Foster), Super Storm (Emelio McLean) and Money Mission (Bebeto Harvey) into the half-mile turn.

Still off the pace approaching the stretch, You’re My Sweetie switched gears in deep stretch and came with a strong run on the outside. She powered past the leaders and drew clear to win going away. Raging River held second and Moonlight Song finished third.
