The popular Coolie Dance rhythm, produced by Cordell “Skatta” Burrell, has revisited the Billboard Hot 100 chart, thanks to its sampling in Puerto Rican singer Karol G’s Bby WOW, which also features Spanish singers and songwriters Judeline and rusowsky.

Bby WOW stepped up from #16 to land at #10, giving the Coolie Dance rhythm its second appearance inside the top 10.

In the summer of 2004, sister duo Nina Sky rose to a #4 high with Move Ya Body, which sampled the
Coolie Dance. That song went on to earn a gold certification in the US and in at least three other countries.

The other songs that made it onto the Hot 100 chart accompanied by the Coolie Dance beat were Culo by Pitbull; Jook Gal (Wine Wine) by Elephant Man and Kip Rich featuring YoungBloodz; and
Twista and Pull Up by Mr Vegas.

Still on Bby WOW, the song continues to reign in the #1 spot on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs and Hot Latin Rhythm Songs charts. It also debuts this week in the #36 position on Billboard’s Rhythmic Airplay chart.

Still on the Billboard charts, the new reincarnation of Sister Nancy’s iconic Bam Bam, renamed
Jamaican (Bam Bam) and credited to producers HUGEL and SOLTO, steps up to #8 on Billboard’s Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart, where it peaked at #7 more than nine months ago. The song moves into the #14 spot on Billboard’s Warm Global Dance Radio chart in its 28th week on the tally.

And, finally, Jamaican (Bam Bam) has fallen to #10 on the Billboard France Hot 100 songs chart, where it got as far as #5. The song has been certified diamond for sales and streaming equivalent of more than 330,000 units.

Over on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart, Malie Donn’s much-anticipated debut album Golden Child failed to make its debut. However, Bob Marley and the Wailers hang on to the #1 spot for a 348th non-consecutive week with Legend.

Best of Shaggy: The Boombastic Collection by Shaggy remains at #2, while The Trinity by Sean Paul stays firm at #3.

World on Fire by Stick Figure inches up to #4 while Dutty Rock by Sean Paul improves at #5.

Greatest Hits by UB40 makes gains at #6, while Stick Figure occupies #7 and #8 with Wisdom and
Set in Stone, and Road Runner by Destin Conrad spends a third week on the chart, remaining at #9.

Exodus by Bob Marley and the Wailers re-enters at #10.

Moving now to regional charts, Blaze It by I-Noah remains at #1 for a second week on the Reggae North Canadian Top 20 Reggae and Dancehall chart. Just Try by Tonya P is steady at #2, with Yesterday Once More by Steele inching up to #3, and Mr Ungrateful by Krazy Bonez securing the #4 spot.

My Lady by V Merchant is #5 and Never Let You Go by Memberz Syndicate is the new entry at #20.

Ten Foot Wall by Tasha T holds down the #1 spot on the Rebel Vibez Top Ten Canadian Reggae chart, while Set Me Free by Memberz Syndicate is #2.

Worldwide (Dubfare) by Lord Fury and Dub Chronicles is #3, Rise Up by Belinda Brady hits #4, and Soft Girl Era by Kayla Allen takes the #5 spot.

Set the World on Fire by Tash Wayne debuts at #10.

The Voice of the Caribbean’s Florida Reggae & Dancehall Top 20 Radio Singles chart has Give Thanks by Future Fambo and Sheenwrks at #1.

Babylon So Evil by Capleton, Damian and Stephen Marley falls to #2, with Volcano by Spice erupting at #3. Press Back by Sean Paul remains at #4 and Rotation by Kabaka Pyramid rises to #5.
