KINGSTON, Jamaica — Former champions Big JPL wins for Waterhouse and Arnett Gardensand Arnett Gardens FC scored big wins, their first of the Jamaica Premier League season, over Humble Lion and Dunbeholden FC respectively at the Anthony Spaulding Complex on Monday.

Waterhouse, who were making their debut this season, beat Humble Lion 5-0 in the opening game of the double header before Giovanni Taylor scored two early goals to lead Arnett Gardens to a 3-0 win over Dunbeholden FC.

Both Humble Lion and Dunbeholden were losing back-to-back games to start the season.

Rohan Brown put Waterhouse in front early when he scored in the fourth minute, and after a number of wasted chances, they added a second in the 36th minute when Colorado Murray scored his first of the season.

Three substitutes got on the scoresheet in the second half as Javane Bryan made it 3-0 in the 65th minute with his first touch after coming on as a substitute two minutes earlier.

Jamone Lyle made it 4-0 in the 89th minute before Cardel Benbow added a fifth from the penalty spot.

Arnett Gardens rebounded from their opening game loss to Racing United with an easy win as Taylor, a national Under-20 representative, took full advantage of a disorganised Dunbeholden defence, scoring in the ninth and 15th minutes.

Taylor beat goalkeeper Peter Harrison at his near right post for the opening goal before being presented with a wide-open goal in the 15th minute after the goalkeeper and one of his defenders collided, leaving the goal unattended.

Jamone Shepherd scored the third in the 44th minute.
