While searching for a collaborator for the remix to his song, What A Gwan, Max Wayne was impressed by a singer he met through tiktok. Her name is Starr Trilli and she is from The Bahamas.

After listening to an impromptu performance from the Grand Bahama resident, the New York-based deejay knew instantly that Star Trilli was perfect for his guest slot. What A Gwan the remix was recently released by the Virgin Music Group.

Produced by King Barka Productions, the uptempo track has a positive theme.

“The message of What A Gwan is all about inspiring ghetto youth to uplift their lifestyle to own houses and other achievements,” said Max Wayne.

The Spanish Town native, whose previous songs include Oh my Baby and Cake Up, was so taken with Starr Trilli’s recording skills that they recorded and released a follow-up song titled God Alone mi Fear.

From Freeport in Grand Bahama, Star Trilli said she also felt an instant chemistry with Max Wayne, although their correspondence was on social media. A recording artiste since 2018, her musical tastes are diverse — from Michael Jackson and Chaka Khan to Nicki Minaj, Spice and Buju Banton.

“After the recording session was done, I sent Max Wayne my part of the remix. He loved it and said, ‘Outside. Fire and it bad’. When I heard his Jamaican slang, I knew it was going to be something big,” she said.
