FSC, Indian High Commission explore regulatory cooperation

The Financial Services Commission (FSC) on Tuesday met with India’s High Commissioner to Jamaica Mayank Joshi and members of his team to explore opportunities for technical cooperation and capacity building.

Discussions focused on strengthening the FSC’s development, innovation and growth (DIG) agenda, including regulatory innovation, the development of an appropriate supervisory framework for financial-facing activities within Jamaica’s global services sector, and the continued development and operationalisation of the FSC’s regulatory sandbox.

The engagement also explored opportunities for the FSC to benefit from India’s regulatory experience and technical expertise, with the High Commission indicating its willingness to facilitate further engagement with relevant Indian institutions and technical experts.
