RUGBY League Jamaica has announced Guardian Life Jamaica, one of the country’s largest insurers, through the Guardian Group Foundation, as the main sponsor for a historic four-team tour of Canada.

Jamaica and Canada’s men’s, ‘A’ teams, Under-19 and Masters sides are set to meet on Saturday, October 10 at Terry Fox Stadium in Brampton, Ontario, in a festival of rugby league.

Guardian will be the front-of-shirt sponsor for Jamaica’s Men’s Reggae Warriors and Under-19 team.

Rugby League Jamaica General Secretary Adrian Hall said, “We are happy to have Guardian come on again as a main sponsor to support the teams as this tour will be significant for several reasons. Last year we met the Canadians in Kingston, which was powered by the insurers, and we won that game, so we want to continue winning with this push behind us. The squads have trained well and we expect to give a good account. Massive shout out to Guardian for their continued support.”

Guardian Life Jamaica President Meghon Miller-Brown said, “At Guardian Life we believe in supporting opportunities that allow Jamaicans to excel and proudly represent our country on the international stage. We are pleased to contribute $600,000 to support Jamaica’s men’s national rugby league team as they compete in Canada. We wish the team every success as they represent Jamaica.”

The Jamaican-based members of the squad leave the island on October 6 to travel to Ontario.
