Masicka announces Forever1NE Music Festival for Portmore

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Dancehall artiste Masicka is set to stage his first headline show in his hometown of Portmore with the inaugural Forever1NE Music Festival at Caymanas Park on December 19.

The event, being staged in partnership with Zimi Entertainment and Magnum as title partner, is being positioned as a major celebration of dancehall, Jamaican music and culture. Masicka will headline the festival alongside special guests, with additional acts and entertainment to be announced in the coming weeks.

For Masicka, the event represents a homecoming after a year that has seen the entertainer continue to expand his international presence.

“Portmore is home, so being able to touch the stage here and bring Forever1NE to the people means a lot,” Masicka said. “After everything that has happened this year, it feels right to celebrate this moment at home.”

He said patrons can expect “big performances, surprises and energy from start to finish”, adding that the aim is to create an experience that represents dancehall and Jamaica on a major level.

The announcement follows the release of Masicka’s third studio album, Forever Reign, which debuted at number four on the Billboard Reggae Albums Chart in August. The achievement means all three of his studio albums have reached the top five of the chart, following 438, which peaked at number two in 2021, and Generation of Kings, which also reached number two in 2023.

Nicholas “Zimi Nick” Mahfood, managing director of Zimi Entertainment, said the company sees the potential for Forever1NE to develop into a signature Jamaican music event.

“This is an opportunity to create a major live entertainment experience here in Jamaica that reflects the strength of Dancehall, our culture and the calibre of production coming out of the Caribbean,” Mahfood said.
