11-y-o among two killed in Denham Town house fire

KINGSTON, Jamaica — An 11-year-old boy was among two people killed in a house fire along North Street in Kingston early Tuesday morning.

The deceased have been identified as 11-year-old Jaydon Whyte and 60-year-old Junior Barrett.

According to the Denham Town police, lawmen were alerted to a fire in the area about midnight.

Members of the Jamaica Fire Brigade extinguished the blaze and conducted cooling-down operations. The charred remains of Whyte and Barrett were subsequently discovered inside the home.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the fire and the deaths.
