INSIDE THE CHARTS: Beenie Man’s For You continues upward trajectory
Three weeks after it made its debut, For You, credited to producer Kemar McGregor, Beenie Man, and Snoop Dogg featuring Elephant Man, Dyani, Shaneil Muir, Tifa, Vanessa Bling, Stefflon Don, Kraff, and Pamputtae, continues its upward trajectory on the Billboard Rhythmic Airplay chart.
The song entered at #39 then moved up to #34. It improves at #33 this week.
For You is featured on Beenie Man’s latest album Eminence. The 16-track set was released on August 20 via Billboard King Records.
Also featured on the album are Rick Ross, T.I., Ashanti, Mýa, Rotimi, and Lola Brooke.
For You has given Beenie Man his first entry on the Rhythmic Airplay chart in 20 years. To date, he has logged six entries. Feel It Boy featuring Janet Jackson is his biggest hit on that tally, rising as far as #13 in 2002.
And still on Billboard, Karol G’s Bby Wow which samples the Coolie Dance rhythm, maintains its lead at the top of the Hot Latin Songs chart, where it wears the crown for a seventh week. It steps up from #4 to #2 on Latin Airplay, while holding firm at #2 on Latin Rhythm Airplay. The song also spends a 7th week at #1 on Hot Latin Rhythm Songs. Over on Billboard Global 200 it falls from #1 to #3, while relinquishing the #1 spot on Global Excluding US.
Bby Wow falls from #6 to #10 on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Now over on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart, Bob Marley and the Wailers continue to lead the pack at #1 with Legend clocking 351 non-consecutive weeks.
Best of Shaggy: The Boombastic Collection by Shaggy stays put at #2, with Dutty Classics Collection and Dutty Rock by Sean Paul remaining firm at #3 and #4.
World on Fire by Stick Figure is #5, while Greatest Hits by UB40 holding down the #6 spot and Wisdom and Set In Stone by Stick Figure at #7 and #8.
Exodus by Bob Marley and the Wailers inches up to #9 and Welcome to Jamrock by Damian Marley re-enters at #10.
Over on Voice of the Caribbean’s Florida Reggae and Dancehall Top 20 Radio Singles chart, Move by Cham and Jada Kingdom takes over the #1 spot.
Give Thanks by Future Fambo and Sheenwrks dips to #2, while 1 Psalm by Masicka and Damian Marley rises to #3.
Rotation by Kabaka Pyramid falls to #4 and former chart-topper Babylon So Evil by Capleton, Stephen and Damian Marley dips to #5.
Yesterday Once More by Steele is the new champ on the Reggae North Canadian Top 20 Reggae and Dancehall chart. Meanwhile, Mr Ungrateful by Krazy Bonez inches up to #2, and Just Try by Tonya P, which spent two weeks at #1, falls to #3.
My Lady by V Merchant remains at #4 and Do You by Fara and Tugstar is #5.
And now to the New York Reggae chart, Come Feel the Love by Morgan Heritage is the new #1, with Deliver Me by Derrick Scott stepping up from #7 to #5.
The Girl in His Mind by Richie Stephens shoots from #11 to #8, Lila Ike’s What It Feels Like is #15, and Diamond in the Rough by Ed Robinson moves up to #22.
Unconditional Love by Marcia Griffiths enters at #27, Breath of Life by Queen Ifrica steps in at #28, and Too Far Gone by JC Lodge opens at #30.
Strings Attached by Joanna Marie has risen to #1 on the South Florida Reggae chart, while Perfidia by Chaka Demus and Isha Bell moves up to #10.
My Sound by Christopher Ellis glides from #21 to #18, while Puppet on a String by Racquel Jones debuts at #23. Too Far Gone by JC Lodge starts at #25.
