D’Angel spreads Love on Eternal Wave rhythm
DANCEHALL artiste D’Angel is enjoying strong traction with her reggae single Love, featured on the Eternal Wave rhythm produced by Good Good Productions.
The official music video has already amassed more than 550,000 views on YouTube just over two months after its release, a response D’Angel says reinforces the connection listeners have with the reggae side of her catalogue.
“The fans love the reggae side of my music because it’s relatable and inspiring.
Since the release of Love, the views and the reach, just over two months now, have been impressive,” she said.
For D’Angel, working with Good Good Productions was also significant, describing the outfit as her “all-time producer”.
While Love may suggest romance by its title, the song explores a more complicated side of relationships, focusing on betrayal, envy, and recognising when people enter one’s life with ulterior motives.
“The inspiration behind the song comes from real-life issues of betrayal and envy.
People will come around for personal gain who never liked you to begin with,” D’Angel told the Jamaica Observer.
She said the central message is captured in the line, “If it ain’t love, it won’t last long.” The artiste also encourages listeners not to be afraid of walking away from relationships that no longer serve them.
“It’s also OK to let go of people who come around for the wrong reasons, because oftentimes they stop your blessings,” she said.
D’Angel believes the relatability of the message has helped fuel the song’s reception.
“This song is similar to others because persons can relate.
The difference is that the message in the music may be specific to something someone is going through at the moment,” she said.
With Love gaining momentum, D’Angel is already preparing her next slate of releases.
She recently recorded God Have Mi Back, produced by Richie Stephens’ Pot of Gold Production, which she believes will deliver another inspirational message.
“I just recorded a song called God Have Mi Back that will definitely inspire the world,” she shared.
She is also preparing to release visuals for Bad & Boujee, produced by Iron Daddy Muzik.
The track, which she says is already performing well across music platforms, is aimed at women embracing confidence and success.
“The song represents the ladies bossing up and stepping out boujee and classy, but still standing firm,” D’Angel said.
Her schedule has included a performance at PinkTober in Kingston, an event geared towards assisting breast cancer patients.
She will then return as a headliner at Saint International Fashion Block, before heading to the United States to continue her tour.
