Greatness Pink and White Brunch embraces breast cancer awareness ahead of Heroes’ Day staging
Organisers of the Greatness Pink and White Brunch are using their platform to promote breast cancer awareness and community involvement ahead of the event’s staging at Devon House in Kingston on National Heroes’ Day, Monday, October 19.
As Jamaica observes Breast Cancer Awareness Month throughout October, the organising team has been participating in activities aimed at raising awareness about the disease and showing solidarity with those affected.
Among their recent initiatives was participation in the CIBC Pink Run on Sunday, October 11, where members of the team joined scores of participants in supporting the cause.
According to the organisers, the initiative forms part of a broader commitment to ensuring that Greatness Pink and White Brunch, is recognised not only for entertainment, but also for its contribution to meaningful social causes.
“For the Greatness team, being great is not simply about throwing an unforgettable party; it is about embracing a lifestyle of compassion, community involvement and giving back,” said Sheryl Hines Evans.
With pink already a signature colour of the event, the organisers believe Breast Cancer Awareness Month presents an opportunity to give greater significance to the celebration while encouraging conversations about early detection, education and support for individuals and families affected by the disease.
The event’s staging on National Heroes’ Day also holds special meaning for the team, which believes the occasion provides an opportunity to reflect on the values of courage, resilience and service, qualities shared by those battling breast cancer and the families supporting them.
Meanwhile, preparations are in high gear for Monday’s staging, which promises patrons an experience featuring music, fashion, entertainment and food at the historic Devon House.
The organisers are hoping to deliver another memorable celebration while reinforcing the importance of community engagement and social responsibility within Jamaica’s entertainment industry.
