Frontline workers get crunchy treat from Chester’s Jamaica on Heroes’ Day

Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) chain Chester’s Jamaica treated over 100 essential workers across the island to a special surprise lunch Monday to commemorate National Heroes Day.

Kicking off Chester’s “Everyday Heroes” initiative at approximately 11:30 am+, representatives of the restaurant surprised frontline workers on duty with Chester’s meals, including the company’s newly launched festival biscuit — a delicious fusion combining a Jamaican classic with an American favourite.

Recipients of the surprise meal included police personnel, nurses, hospital staff, and service station employees — all of whom were actively working throughout the public holiday to keep local communities safe and moving.

“National Heroes Day is a time for gratitude and reflection,” stated Chester’s Jamaica in a statement, adding “While many Jamaicans are at the beach or enjoying time on the road, our police officers, nurses, doctors, and service workers are hard at work, often without receiving the thanks they deserve. This is a small gesture, but it comes with immense gratitude. Today, we wanted to serve those who serve our communities every single day.”

The islandwide distribution took place across key locations in Chester’s QSR network, including TOTAL Caledonia (Manchester), FESCO Bodles (St Catherine), GIBSON’S May Pen (Clarendon), TOTAL Liguanea (St Andrew), and TOTAL Old Harbour (St Catherine).

The National Heroes Day gesture marks the launch of Chester’s broader Everyday Heroes series, an ongoing initiative designed to recognise and celebrate the dedicated individuals who serve others on public holidays while most of the island takes the day off.

The campaign will return monthly through the end of the year as part of Chester’s broader “Pull Up Season” promotion.
