KINGSTON, Jamaica — Several ISSA Manning Cup and daCosta Cup schoolboy football matches scheduled for Friday have been postponed because of prevailing weather conditions.

The postponements affect matches in Portland, St Thomas, Kingston and St Andrew, St Catherine and Clarendon, as organisers continue to monitor the weather situation across the island.

The decision means a halt to schoolboy football action in the affected parishes, with further updates expected as the day progresses.

Organisers are continuing to assess conditions in the other parishes to determine whether the scheduled matches can proceed.

Players, coaches, officials and supporters have been urged to prioritise their safety and avoid unnecessary risks amid the unfavourable weather.

“Please stay safe and do not take any chances that may prove unsafe,” the advisory stated.

No details have been provided regarding new dates for the postponed matches. Further announcements are expected as the weather situation develops.
