Jamaica hit Sri Lanka for six at U15 World Cup

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Jamaica extended their historic run to three wins at the FIFA Under-15 World Cup, beating Sri Lanka 6-0 in Baku, Azerbaijan on Sunday.

This is the first time that Jamaica has registered a win against a non-Concacaf team at a FIFA World Cup since 1998, when the Reggae Boyz beat Japan at the 1998 FIFA Men’s World Cup in France.

The Jamaican team opened their schedule on Saturday with a 9-0 win over the US Virgin Islands and then beat Cuba 1-0 in their first of two games on Sunday.

Jamaica have now recorded three wins in a row for the first time ever at a FIFA World Cup.

They will next face Togo and the Czech Republic on Monday, and if they top their first-round group, will advance to the round of 32 of the competition.
