Freedom Trail Reggae goes from strength to strength

Producer Marvin ‘Skitta’ Reid is strengthening Freedom Trail Reggae’s profile, with growing support for releases by Snatcha and Chezidek providing momentum for the label’s next promotional push.

With a catalogue featuring Buju Banton, Capleton, Sizzla and other established names, Reid is building on years of production work while creating opportunities for emerging talent.

“Our catalogue gives us a strong foundation, but we have to keep moving forward. Every release is an opportunity to reach new listeners and strengthen the Freedom Trail Reggae name,” said Reid.

Leading the current campaign is Snatcha’s My Baby Mother, a heartfelt tribute to the strength and sacrifices of women raising children. Distributed by Florida-based Music Embassies, the single has attracted radio support in Jamaica, the wider Caribbean, the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom.

Chezidek’s Bless Di Place is also enjoying strong rotation, adding to the label’s current momentum.

“The response to Snatcha and Chezidek is encouraging because these songs have messages people can connect with. Our job is to support the music consistently and give it every opportunity to travel,” Reid said.

Next on the promotional agenda are So Many Bills, featuring Bugle and Military Man, followed by Richie Spice’s Who Knows. Both campaigns will broaden attention around the label’s productions as Reid works to build on the reception to its current releases.

Freedom Trail Reggae’s catalogue also includes recordings featuring Turbulence and Anthony Cruz. Its Metadata Riddim project brought together Sizzla and Capleton alongside Eldie Anthony, Jac Saavige, Chabe and Rude Kid, reflecting its investment in established and developing voices.

Meanwhile, Snatcha’s planned EP with the label offers another opportunity to build on My Baby Mother.

With current releases attracting radio attention and further campaigns ahead, Freedom Trail Reggae is steadily expanding its reach, giving Reid a platform to turn the label’s growing momentum into lasting recognition.
