Tommy Lee Sparta ready to own Halloween at MAIN ACT

Artiste promises deeper live-band experience at launch of new concert series

Halloween is Tommy Lee Sparta’s time to shine, and the dancehall artiste intends to make the most of it when he takes centre stage at MAIN ACT, a new live-music experience making its debut on Saturday, October 31.

The concert, which will be held at the Chinese Benevolent Association (CBA) in St Andrew, will see Tommy Lee performing alongside live band Ruff Cut in a setting designed to complement his dark, theatrical persona.

With a haunted-house transformation, a graveyard-themed entrance, and a costume competition offering cash prizes, the event promises to bring the Halloween spirit well beyond the stage.

For Tommy Lee, however, the music remains central to the experience. The artiste, who is also a co-organiser, said the performance would allow him to explore his catalogue more deeply than he typically gets to when sharing the stage with a live band.

“It’s going to be something different. Every time me perform wid di bands, it always short and spicy. Mi never really get fi go dung inna details with them, and that’s what I’m going to do on the weekend,” he said.

The performance is expected to give fans a more expansive experience of his music, with Ruff Cut providing the live accompaniment in a setting designed to bring the artiste, musicians, and audience closer together.

And with the date falling on Halloween, Tommy Lee believes the occasion is particularly suited to his brand.

“Halloween is my time a year. Yuh know a me a Uncle Demon, a me response fi dem time a year yah,” he said.

According to co-promoter Prado, the artiste was instrumental in ensuring that the concert took place on Halloween, even when other dates were initially being considered.

“Tommy Lee was the one who actually came up with the idea to do it on Halloween. We wanted to do it on another day and he insisted on Halloween, saying it would match his aura and what the show is about,” Prado said.

The promoter believes the event’s name is equally appropriate for an artiste whose performances are known for commanding attention.

“The event is called MAIN ACT and Tommy Lee always gives main character energy. This Halloween it won’t be any different,” Prado added.

Those looking to take their Halloween creativity a step further will also have the opportunity to compete for cash prizes. The best costume will earn $50,000, with $30,000 going to second place, and $20,000 to third place.

Prado said patrons must purchase tickets online or through the designated ticket outlets to qualify for the competition.

The debut staging will also introduce audiences to the wider concept behind MAIN ACT, which is being developed as a recurring mini-concert series. Each edition will centre on one featured artiste performing with a live band, offering a more focused musical experience than a traditional multi-artiste stage show.

Tommy Lee is encouraging fans to turn out ready to enjoy the experience, with special guest artistes also expected to make appearances during the night.

“People fi just come and enjoy dem self. Put on unuh costume and come,” he said.

The event is being hosted in partnership with Clearsound Production Services Group Limited and is scheduled to begin at 9:00 pm.
