Mitchell’s National Democratic Congress sweeps Grenada polls
ST GEORGE’S, Grenada, (CMC) — Early results from Thursday’s general election indicate that the Dickon Mitchell-led National Democratic Congress (NDC) has secured a second consecutive term in office.
Provisional results show the NDC winning 14 of the 15 constituencies, with the New National Party (NNP), led by Emmalin Pierre, taking only St George North-West.
The NDC won the previous general election in June 2022 by a nine-to-six margin.

The Parliamentary Elections Office reported a voter turnout of 63.3 per cent, with 60,151 ballots cast from 97,031 registered voters. Of the ballots cast, 192 were rejected and 138 were spoiled.
A total of 46 candidates contested the 15 parliamentary seats, representing the NDC, NNP, DPM, People’s National Party, Grenada United Labour Party, Grenada Social Democratic Party, Change of Hope for Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique, and the Grenada Renaissance Party.
