D’Angel secures 7th brand ambassador deal

Dancehall artiste D’Angel has added another milestone to her career after being officially named brand ambassador for Swift Rent A Car and Aspen Luxury Suites, marking her seventh brand ambassador deal.

The partnership was formalised during a signing ceremony held at 30 Balmoral Avenue in St Andrew in the presence of media representatives and officials from the companies.

Speaking with the Jamaica Observer at the event, D’Angel expressed excitement about the partnership, noting that her relationship with both businesses extends beyond their commercial offerings.

“I have been associated with the brands for some time now, renting cars and so on. It’s also dependent on how they treat me — like family. The customer service is always excellent, and they decided to have me as a brand ambassador since I have the audience for it, the flair, I’m a people person and I can sell anything,” she said.

“They did their research and saw that I have been a brand ambassador. They know that when I am involved in anything, I am in it one million per cent,” she added.

Beyond the business relationship, D’Angel said the companies have demonstrated their commitment to community development by supporting charitable initiatives undertaken through her foundation.

She explained that their involvement has been particularly meaningful during periods when securing support for her philanthropic activities proved challenging.

“Swift and Aspen have partnered with my charity. That, to me, was a big plus. I have utmost respect for them. Even when I thought about giving up [on some initiatives], they came on board. I’m going to make them proud. I’m going to sell their brands even in my sleep,” she added.

According to the entertainer, their most recent charitable collaboration took place during the back-to-school season, when representatives from both companies accompanied her to western parishes affected by Hurricane Melissa to distribute school bags to children in need.

Meanwhile, Aspen Luxury Suites Manager Ashanti Morrison said the partnership is expected to strengthen the company’s visibility and attract new customers, particularly as the business undertakes renovations to its luxury apartments.

“Aspen Luxury Suites is registered worldwide. So, with D’Angel and the audience that she has, we’re definitely looking forward to more customers,” Morrison told the Observer.

She noted that the timing of the partnership is especially significant as the company prepares to showcase its newly renovated accommodations.

Similarly, Swift Rent A Car Manager Derven Patterson praised D’Angel’s character and long-standing commitment to family and community, describing her as a suitable representative for the business.

“D’Angel is a family-oriented entertainer. So, I am pleased with it because companies must incorporate themselves with people that make sense and are upstanding citizens. D’Angel is someone who has displayed those characteristics over the years,” Patterson said.

The latest partnership further expands D’Angel’s commercial portfolio, which has seen her represent several prominent brands throughout her career.

Among the companies she has previously partnered with are Digicel, Coke Zero, Wray & Nephew’s G-Force, Access Financial Services Limited, MegaMart, and Island Blo Bar.
