Jogger killed in St Mary hit-and-run, police search for Probox driver
ST MARY, Jamaica – An early morning jog in Enfield, St Mary ended in tragedy for a well known community member who was mowed down Sunday and left for dead on the roadway.
The deceased is 56 year-old Derval Kirkland.
Police reports are that around 6 am, Kirkland went on his routine morning jog along the Enfield main road when a grey Toyota Probox which was speeding hit Kirkland. The driver of the Probox did not stop.
A resident found the injured Kirkland and called the police. The jogger was taken to the Annotto Bay Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The St Mary Police are investigating as they seek the driver of the grey Toyota Probox.
