The action shifts west
It’s going to be a super busy week so let me immediately cut to the chase.
Congrats to hotel veteran, Winsome Tapper. Winsome who is now at The Wexford Hotel in Montego Bay took her first trip down the aisle. Hubby Howard Lammie was making his fourth.
And just as my friends from the fabulous island of Guadeloupe were beginning to enjoy Negril they ordered Appleton (Tatler had briefed them well) at the celebrated Rick’s Cafe. They had seen this wonderful attraction on the Travel Channel and could have sworn it was located in Jamaica. Alas the waiter informed them that the only rum served at Rick’s Cafe is Bacardi.
Somebody pinch me please for surely we are not at Che in London. Might I suggest that the folks at Rick’s Cafe — Make it Jamaica and Appleton. S’il vous plait!
The fabulous Sheryl Lee Ralph is bringing the original 007 Roger Moore to Jamaica for the Film Festival. Please bring back Chris Rock Miss Ralph. Has anybody seen him on the cover of GQ?
The doctors have given him the term “reproductively challenged”. Alas he does not understand and poor wifey is afraid to tell him. Why not? Don’t be silly, she’s in an advanced state of pregnancy and enjoying the fuss — the trips to Miami, the chic baby’s room and finally what seems to have eluded her for ages — security.
A Bientot!
PS All roads lead to Montego Bay this week. Just when we figured that all was lost, JTB’s Fay Pickersgill and her team will be hosting lunch in Jamaica on Wednesday at the fabulous Ritz Carlton White Witch Golf Club. Celebs will be in abundance.
And then it’s the Sashi banquet in the evening… Margaritaville till the wee hours of the morning and the Great House on Thursday for the Sashi fashion show.
Antoinette Chen ties the knot on Saturday at the Wharfhouse followed by breakfast at the Ritz and in true civilised divorce style her ex and his bethrothed and her ex-in-laws will be in attendance.
