Alone on Valentine’s?
NO Valentine? Don’t sit and moan about it. Make the best of the day. Here are some tips on what to do if the day catches you single and mateless.
1. Throw a party
Enjoy the celebration of being single, invite all your single friends over, throw some goodies together and sip some champagne. A little healthy trash-talk of exes won’t hurt either.
2. Cherish your family
Spend some time with the family. They are the real loves of your life. Focus on them and treasure how lucky you are to have them around.
3. Take a class
Improve yourself, work out or do some yoga – both can be extremely relaxing and will help you to keep your mind off the day, and the physical benefits are a plus.
4. Go shopping
One of the good things about being single is having more money to spend on you, right? Go out and get what you want. Shopping has been known to raise spirits from the slums with ease, just don’t overdo it and be in debt.
5. Babysit
Help a friend or family member out, allowing them to enjoy their Valentine’s Day by babysitting their kids.
It’s a good deed, plus kids can be so much fun to be around, and if they aren’t, at least you will establish an admiration for being single, and not having kids!
6. Spa day
Turn Valentine’s Day into spa day. Get a massage, facial, manicure, the works if you please. Make an investment in yourself, you’re worthy!
7. Read a book
Pour your favourite drink, get cosy on the couch and become captivated in a good book.
8. Draw a bath
Let the stress go! Light some candles, turn the music up, and take a nice, soothing warm bath.
9. Watch a movie
Rent a comedy – laughing can take your mind off things.
10. It’s just another day!
Go about your business doing exactly what you do on a daily basis. It’s just another day!
