A Fairy-tale Wedding in Paradise

If fairy-tales depict elegant princesses, blessed with “fairy-tale endings” and “fairy-tale romances” in a stunning setting, then enjoy this enchanting wedding ceremony of Faith Cuevas and Jason Smith. Seated in a majestic mahogany carriage, the bride looked every bit the princess, as her prince stood far off in the distance, gazing at his stunning bride. The couple, originally from Memphis, Tennessee, journeyed to a far-off destination to exchange vows at Sandals Royal Caribbean Montego Bay, on Saturday, July 18, 2009.

The Wedding Ceremony

Chirping birds and mystic waves welcomed the couple to Jamaica, the place they chose for their nuptials after attending their friends’ wedding in Ocho Rios last year. Their chosen destination was the white sands of Balmoral Beach and cream blossoms of Sandals Royal Caribbean, for a charming ocean-front ceremony. The ceremony was an intimate affair attended by immediate family and friends.

Above all and most importantly, it was Here and Now – the phrase belted by Luther Vandross in the chosen wedding song – as the loving couple made their union official.

Eleven guests shared in the union of 33-year-old Faith Cuevas and 32-year-old Jason Smith. The bride received loving support from her brother and sister; and the groom’s mother and grandmother were by his side. The couple relished the company of the most important guest at their wedding – their beloved 11-year-old son.

The bride wore a gorgeous white satin gown that complemented her dazzling smile and twinkling eyes as she admired her groom. Jason Smith was handsomeness personified, wearing a cream and white ensemble and his eyes brimming with love. The Smiths were truly a divine match made in paradise.

The Reception

The colours chosen were chocolate and cream and the white Balmoral sands were adorned with red rose petals fashioned into the shape of a heart; the white wedding cake was equally as elegant, and deliciously sweet. Family and friends enjoyed the fare and post-nuptial celebrations.

The Honeymoon

Their honeymoon began with a romantic dinner by the ocean front, courtesy of Sandals Royal Caribbean’s executive sous-chef Glenroy Walker who presented the couple with selected French dishes. After dinner, the lovers frolicked by the sea and happily posed for photographs – truly a ‘fairy-tale ending’.
