What he expects on the first date

BY NICOLE NATION

The dating rules are no longer what they used to be; everything is topsy turvy. No longer do certain rules still hold true; in fact, experimentation is the name of the game in some circles, with some men wanting to get the cat out of the bag as early as date number one.

‘Old fashioned’ thinking may have you enjoying your own company more often than not, some men say, and so to clarify we asked some guys, do you expect things like sex on the first date?

Mark, 32:

No, as a gentleman that’s not the first thing that is on my mind when I’m courting a real woman. I want to first take the time to get to know her as a person. When I choose a woman I like, I think of her as an investment. And anybody who knows anything about investments knows that it takes times to see the desired returns.

Paul 28:

It all depends on the occasion. If it’s my birthday and we decide to go out and she wants to give me a special present, then by all means. Who am I do deny such a gift?

Christopher 26:

Yes, you done know. That is the first thing on a brother’s mind.

Kino, 30:

No, I’m not looking for sex, especially on the first date. I feel as if I have to get to know the person a bit more. Some of the girls nowadays are too promiscuous and so you have to be careful with them.

Glenroy, 38:

No sah. At least a month. I have to be able to assess during that time period if I can be in a relationship with her. Plus the way how STIs and HIV a tek over the place, mi have to be careful. Although you know mi always walk wid protection.

Kevin, 37:

Most females don’t want to come off too easy. They want the man to impress them, treat them the right way and essentially get to know them better as a person. They think that the longer the sex is kept at bay, the stronger the relationship bond will be. But she can’t wait too long to give it up though.

Wayne 34:

I personally don’t expect sex from a woman on the first date. If it happens then sure, but I don’t expect it.
