Signs you’re with a good man
GOOD men, they say, are hard to find, but the truth of the matter is, some women in relationships with very good men fail to recognise it, especially since it is easier to identify a person’s faults than their good qualities.
Reverend Robert McHugh of the Pentecost Lighthouse Apostolic Church said a good man has certain qualities — like when a woman can see the image, love and caring compassion of God in him.
There are other signs that point to goodness, and McHugh said these should be acknowledged.
These include:
1. He stands by you no matter what
A good man will understand what is meant by ‘for better or for worse’ and when challenges and unexpected situations arise he will not leave you to work things out on your own, but will stay by your side and be your teammate through it all.
2. He never lets you forget how much he loves you
Affection is said to be women’s number one need, and when the men in their lives do not make them feel loved, wanted, or appreciated, it makes women unhappy, insecure and unsure. A good man will always remind you how much you mean to him.
3. He works to gain your trust
The cornerstone of a good relationship is being able to trust your partner. Therefore he will be patient in working to earn your trust, especially if any indiscretion was involved, rather than being defensive and uncaring.
4. He compliments you
Women feel special when they are complimented. A good man will make his woman feel special and confident by complimenting her often and making her feel beautiful in the way he looks at her, touches her and treats her.
5. He makes you feel safe and secure
No matter what other qualities he may lack or what riches he may or may not possess, if a man makes you feel safe and secure whenever you are with him, then you have a good man.
6. A good man does the little things
He will go to the supermarket and not be afraid to pick up a pack of sanitary napkins, or do the dishes while you rest, or massage your feet after a long day.
7. He is always trying to improve himself
A good man will always seek ways of improving himself intellectually, physically, financially and will always be intellectually challenging you and keeping your attention.
8. He understands that actions speak louder than words
Women for the most part resent men who are full of talk but have no action behind it. A good man will not only make promises but keep them, and will live by his words. This builds trust and reliability in a relationship.
9. He will take care of your kids even though they are not his
A man who treats your kids no differently than he would his, and loves them as if they were his own, is a good man.
10. A good man will never be abusive
Whether it is mentally, emotionally or physically, a good man will never even think about being abusive towards you or harm you in any way, no matter how heated or frustrating an argument may get. Neither will he be abusive to your children.
