The worst ways you can be dumped
Some people make no special effort to end things amicably or decently when they’re no longer interested in the relationship, leading to the other person being doubly devastated. Because breaking up is one thing, but breaking up with someone in a way that will crush them adds another dimension to the hurt.
What are the worst ways to be dumped?
Clive, 27:
I know a bredren whose girl dumped him over the phone. She sent him a text message to tell him that it was over. After that she blocked his number so he couldn’t ask her what was up.
Heidi, 22:
I got pregnant and he told me that it wasn’t his, and that he would leave if I didn’t get rid of it. I thought he’d eventually change his mind, but he did leave — he left the country and is now living in the Eastern Caribbean.
Ryan, 38:
Some women will tell you lies that they need space, only to find out that they only need space for the new men in their lives.
Tina, 32:
My last man told one of his bredren to tell me that it was over. This guy and I used to talk good and so he was willing to give me a shoulder to lean on.
Carlene, 27:
My ex boyfriend and I were in two different places in our lives and I am not sure he picked that up. Anyway, I was about to break up with him because I felt as if we wanted different things and he wanted to propose. He took me out to dinner one night and was acting strangely and before he could even get down on one knee, I just let him know upfront what was going on.
Alicia, 30:
I have friends who left their men on some significant days — Valentine’s Day, birthday, their anniversary. My friends don’t joke.
Tanya, 33:
I got a Whatsapp message from his new girlfriend, who had their picture as her profile picture. He didn’t even have the decency to tell me himself.
