Beyoncé has given women a new anthem, one that some sing every chance they get. “I woke up like this, I woke up like this”, they chant. But these words have men running and screaming, because they’re lies, all lies.
Dwight says he met a nice, well-put together woman at a club one night. He thought she was a 10 so he went home with her, only to have her peel away her layers right before his eyes.
He says he wanted to look away but was too caught up in disbelief to turn his head. It was as if this woman was stepping out of her skin and giving birth to a new human being. He had watched her take off her butt lifter, her waist trainer, her padded bra, her wig and the hairpins she had used to hold it in place. The only thing she left on was her contact lenses and her lashes.
After witnessing this, he was left numb. He had literally watched this woman transform from a 10 to a four. He lost all interest in being with her, not because she was a four, but because he felt somewhat robbed, as a woman he thought was real had conned him into thinking she was attractive. He was now a victim of false advertising.
Men are confused nowadays about what natural beauty really is, as many women have been painted and plumped to perfection.
And the men advise against singing “I woke up like this” when women know it took them an hour to put on their faces the mornings.
