Men: The moment I knew the relationship was over
IT is rare that a relationship ends without previous signs or moments of truth to indicate that things had gone sour and there was no solution but to leave.
However, many times we ignore the signs and try to ride out the turbulent relationship storm, and end up being wounded beyond repair from the damage it causes.
When All Woman asked men about their moment of truth regarding the demise of their relationships, some said they knew the exact moment, while for others it festered over a longer period.
Michael:
I was in training school at the time and she complained that she wasn’t getting enough attention or time with me. I asked her to bear with me until training was completed and she seemed to be in agreement until she sent me a text that said, “Funny how you say you love me, yet every morning I wake up in another man’s bed.” I knew that was it. It’s not like I could leave training school and go win her back. She was already through the gate.
Nicholas:
I knew when she packed up her stuff and moved back to the country to live with her relatives.
Robert:
I knew when I got a job and she said, “Like how you’re now working I can stop working and stay home”. Other things included her constant cursing at her children and how she dealt with them, which was a turn-off for me, as I often wondered if she would do the same if she had my child.
Martin:
When she aborted my baby. That was the second time a woman had done it and it made me realise she didn’t want to be attached to me for the next 18 years. I couldn’t continue the relationship as I was more than capable of caring for her and the child, and if she could take a life like that, I didn’t want to see what else she could do.
Jason:
I knew it was over when she migrated and asked for a break to think about her life’s goals and aspirations.
Kemar:
When she began hanging out more with other men and excluding me from her life, it was evident we would not work out.
Jovan:
She did not attend my mother’s funeral and told me she was ill. By evening she was posting Instagram pictures at a sports bar with her friends.
