How important is physical attractiveness?
The fetching, innocent beauty and tall, dark and handsome ideal have been the feature of romance novels for decades, but many people have learnt that a pretty face gets old, a nice body will change, but a good heart will always remain. As such, many couples will tell you that while physical attraction was the thing that initially drew them in, other qualities kept them interested.
But how important is initial physical attractiveness?

When I met my girlfriend it was love at first sight. I knew she was the one. I was on a bus heading to Half-Way-Tree when I saw her. She was just sitting there looking good. I had to say something to her. To be honest, her looks were what caught my eyes. I tend to go for women who look good. I don’t think that if she just looked OK I would have stepped up to her.

If I was to say looks, I wouldn’t be married today. When I first met my husband I wasn’t attracted to him. He would tell he liked me but I couldn’t look past his beer belly. But after a while I gave him a chance and he grew on me. When I look at him I only see the man who loves me with all his heart and I love him too, belly and all.
