What is the worst Valentine’s Day present you have ever received?
When most people think Valentine’s Day they think stuffed animals, chocolates, roses and other traditional items. Some might tap into their creativity and try to do the unexpected, all with the aim of making their significant others happy.
But what about those who can’t even smile when they see the gifts they got? What’s the worst Valentine’s Day gift you have ever received?
Lacey, 30:
I used to talk to a guy and every year he got me the same boring chocolates. So one year I told him I wanted something different. He decided that instead of buying me chocolates, he was going to make them. I don’t think he thought it through, because he made me frozen ice cubes, because he didn’t know how to make a chocolate bar. He got points for creativity, but nothing more.
Leon, 36:
My ex cooked me dinner one year. She never cooks, and when she does it’s usually something simple like canned meat and rice. But that Valentine’s night I came home to a cooked meal with dessert. It tasted good going down, but I lived on the toilet for the entire night.

My ex gave me the necklace he had given his ex before me. I knew it was hers because I had seen pictures of her wearing it. I got so mad I threw it away.
Sarah, 40:
I haven’t received any bad gifts so far but I have got things I didn’t like. At the end of the day it’s the thought that counts.

I didn’t get, but I gave my girlfriend some wash-over jewellery that gave her a rash.
