Facebook fakes
HEAVY make-up, Photoshopped bodies, and flattering filter used on social media have caused many men to fall for women online, oblivious to the fact that what they’re seeing is merely an illusion.
And when they meet the real-life versions of their crushes, sometimes they’re appalled and surprised at the huge differences online and off.
Below some men share their stories:
Dave:
When we first met each other, she looked the same as in the photos. But not so much the second and third time when she started to come by my place. She looked nothing like she did in the photos. I would say the woman who exited the bathroom each of those nights looked very, very different. Certainly, I was disappointed with what I was seeing.
Phillip:
I was concerned when her boobs looked significantly smaller and her butt the same, as she had been wearing padding. It didn’t matter much to me because I was more interested in her personality, which I was comfortable with. We didn’t last long though, because fake is unattractive. I didn’t want to change her, but I thought she didn’t need all the additives. Unfortunately, she thought she did.
Glen:
I still think the photos she shared were not of her. She looked a lot coarser in person. I guess more men need to invite their dates to pool parties or the beach. I am not saying there is anything wrong with a woman’s flaws, in fact I admire them, but I hate when people sell fake versions of themselves.
Garfield:
She was a pretty face, that’s all she was. She was a far cry from what she portrayed herself to be online. She wasn’t calm or Christian. She was vulgar, impolite and ratchet. She posted those generic quotes online to get people to like her, and she acted for a while. I am beyond disappointed.
Charles:
She was not honest in her profile about anything. Her age, occupation, hobbies, everything was a lie. My interest was piqued by the information that was there. Yes, she was attractive, but I am a personality type of guy. She didn’t like bird shooting like she pretended, so my very expensive sporting day was ruined because she kept nagging me. I was more than disappointed.
