After rejection, hope
I recently saw a post on social media that read, ‘I may not be your cup of tea, but best believe I’m someone’s ackee and saltfish’. I didn’t think much of it at first, but afterwards realised just how dynamic a statement this is.
Have you ever been rejected by someone only to be picked up by another person who loved even the ground you walked on?
Camille:
I once dated a man who when we broke up he told me that no other man would want me. A few months later I met my husband who loves everything about me and wouldn’t change a thing about me.
Wayne:
When I was in high school a girl once told me that I was ugly. I know that I wasn’t the cutest guy out there but to have someone say I was ugly really hurt me, and I went through the rest of my teen years feeling unwanted. But once I started university I met my wife. I was shy to approach her at firt but I eventually did, and the first thing she told me was that she loved my brown eyes and lips. She built my self-confidence and didn’t even know it.
Sandra:
I have been down this road but I strongly think that my guy is out there, somewhere, and he is going to accept me with all my flaws.
Courtney:
One man’s garbage is another man’s treasure. When I met my present girlfriend she kept asking me why I liked her. At first I thought she was asking because she doubted our relationship but after a while she told me that her ex told her things that made her feel like she would never find love. I see nothing wrong with her. She is heavy set and I have never knocked her about her weight. I love every pound of her.
Tameka:
Every hoe have dem stick a bush. There is someone out there for everyone.
