How important is social media to your relationship?
Social media has been the demise of many intimate relationships, as more and more people are paying attention to what is posted online as opposed to their actual relationships. Social media is also destroying bonds, simply because people are using statuses posted on Facebook to determine how their partners actually feel about them.
Here are some interesting points to note:
#1: A Facebook status is just words. These can be meaningful, and they can also be unimportant blather. You should read with a filter to determine what is useful and what is trash. Just because your partner posts something, it doesn’t mean it is directed at you. Stop using social media as the measuring stick for your relationship.
#2: Just because your partner prefers to go private on certain information, doesn’t mean that you should become a CIA agent. When you dig for drama, it will create itself. Some things are best left alone. Once it is not disrespectful and distasteful, leave it alone.
#3: Avoid watching other people’s “picture perfect” relationship posts. Something can look sweet, but if you should really know the truth, it is quite bitter. There is no such thing as the perfect relationship so avoid using social media as a means to pressure your partner into something that is really fake.
