1.He instructs you to cut off family and friends
If a man is telling you to stay away from those who love you, you are better off without him even if you have invested a lot in him. No relationship is supposed to be taking you away from a normal life.
2. He is quick to say negative things
If a man cannot be happy when you share good news, he is not your number one fan. A man who desires to control a woman will use every means to kill her moment of elevation. And weak self-esteem will have you believing that everything that comes from your man’s mouth is gospel.
3. He threatens to leave if you are not compliant
If your partner is using your loyalty to him as a means of gaining power over you, you are being controlled. Some men tend to use this phrase, “If you love me…do this.” Run from any situation that is manipulative.
4. Indebtedness to a ruin
A controlling man will spoil you and shower you with gifts as a means to get your attention, and he will also use that as a means to control you. When he gives you things in exchange for your affection, that is unhealthy.
5. Constant proving of self
If in everything you do, you have to provide evidence, you are not in a healthy relationship. Love is not imprisonment, but rather should set you free. Some women have to show call records and e-mail trails, but this kind of relationship is a trap and you should not be a slave to love.
