How long should you wait for marriage?
There are a lot of women who are waiting patiently for their partners to get down on one knee, all the while investing their hearts and time into the relationships in the hope that the men will see their value. Still others have taken the bull by the horns, and after waiting for a while, decide to ask themselves, or turn up the wedding hints.
How long should a woman really wait for her man to man up and ask for her hand? Should she attempt to hasten the process?
Jennifer:
When I started to date my now husband, he was unsure about me and a future for us and I sensed that from the beginning. Anyway, after a year and seven months, I literally gave him an ultimatum one night where I expressed my desires to be a wife and that he needed to be sure about us or I was going to make a decision which he wouldn’t like. A few days after, he asked me to marry him and we have been together for over a decade. Ladies, I am not telling you to go bully your man and force him to marry you, but because my now husband was playing around and I knew I had no time to idle, I let him know what time it was. In fact, most of you ladies need to give your men a wake up call or you are going to wait in vain to be wives.
Donnet:
I am not rushing or forcing marriage. If I am to get married then my man will ask. The last thing I want to hear from a man is that I forced him to marry me. I’d rather to stay single and unmarried before I do something like that.
Tamara:
I actually say, give a man one year of your time and if you hear nothing about marriage or a family or a future looking bright, leave him. Men usually know within a few months if they see a future with a woman. Now some men really don’t have the money to go out and buy a ring, but a man who has the cash and after a year is still calling you girlfriend is a joker. Find you a real man who is sure of what he wants.
Adriene:
I waited for five years. Ladies, don’t wait that long to show the man that you are deserving. In the first half of my relationship I was playing around and not really investing my heart or anything really to show my man I wanted to be a wife. It was when I really got into my education and career and gave him love and affection that he asked me to be his wife. Get it together ladies. And if you do have it all together, if your man is still playing games after a few years, I would say walk away.

There is no time limit to love. Listen, my best friend got married after three months of dating and they are still happily married after six years. I got married seven months ago and am now facing a divorce possibly. I have been with my children’s dad for 13 years and a few months ago after deciding to make it real, I found out about his cheating games. I am trying real hard to keep it together for the sake of my children. Marriage is not an easy thing so do not limit it to time.
