Guaranteed signs he doesn’t love you
LOVE, by its very nature, is complex — for some people it’s the way the person makes them feel, the things the person says — while for others the person’s actions trump everything else. And while the definition of love may be a never-ending debate, relationship counsellor Wayne Powell points to some unmistakable signs that your partner doesn’t love you.
Just in case you’re blinded by love, be guided by some of the signs below.
He subjects you to physical and emotional abuse constantly
When a man loves a woman, her emotional and physical security are very important to him. As such he ensures that no harm comes to her. Assault, battery and derogatory remarks do not indicate love.
He never expresses his love for you in any way
No matter how much you show love to your partner, he never reciprocates. And while he might like to have you around, when the time comes for you to part ways he’ll want to guard himself against any feeling of guilt. He will point out that he never used the three magic words or did anything nice enough for you to feel that way. This is a person who is just having fun because you are allowing it.
He has no interest in your personal growth and development
He does not ask about your dreams, your goals or how you intend to improve yourself. And even if you share those ideas with him, he doesn’t seem to care, never asks about your progress, or gives you support.
He uses every opportunity to put you down, especially in public
He never compliments you and speaks down to you every time he gets a chance, especially when others are around. If he loved you, then his interest would lie in protecting you from public humiliation.
He constantly compares you with other women
You are just not good enough, no matter what you do, and he makes sure that you are reminded of it every chance he gets. He is so critical that it causes significant damage to your self-esteem and you feel as though you are walking on eggshells around him.
He never shares with you anything concerning his current and future plans
Like a blank slate, you know as much about him as anyone else that you meet for casual reasons. He does not share, even when you try to pull it out of him. His responses on any personal questions are vague, left unanswered, or rudely dismissed. This should be enough to tell you he doesn’t see you as a partner for the future.
He refuses to communicate with you and behaves as if you don’t exist
He barely communicates with you unless it is absolutely necessary, and even pretends that you are invisible when you are around him. His actions suggest that he only tolerates you on his own terms.
He stays away from you every opportunity he gets
Except when he needs you, he stays away from you and concocts stories or makes up excuses about being busy.
