Family support
People will tell you that if a man’s mother likes you, you’re more or less one of the family, as men regard their mothers’ opinions highly. Add to that being shown love by his siblings and extended family, and you should be able to go wedding dress shopping and the whole shebang.
But does this theory really hold any weight? Are you safe if his entire family supports your relationship?
Tanya:
I think that is bogus because I was close to my ex and his family and they knew he was cheating with three other women and they protected him, not me. Blood is thicker than water, so lesson well learnt.
Bridgette:
No, you cannot expect your man’s family to protect you and not him. I am not overly friendly with my in-laws because they’re surely not my family. I have respect, but that is it.
Shauna:
No, you’re not. I learnt that the hard way. I was really close to my ex’s sister as she would tell me any little thing, until I found out that the same woman he cheated on me with, she basically put them together. I trust no one, especially in-laws.
Cheryl:
Ladies, protect yourself and depend on no one to protect your heart. You could be best friends with your man’s mother, still be careful. Family is family.
SL:
I am close to my man’s family and I am as careful as every woman should be.
