AW Fashion – Nellie & Olivia by Olivia Campbell
Olivia Campbell was born to a seamstress mother, Nellie, who wanted nothing more than for her daughter to follow in her creative footsteps. Campbell was forced to learn to sew and, while she was good at it, she did not fall in love with design until she became an adult.
Her tentative approach to sharing her gift with the world made her reluctant to launch this passion in a big way. Campbell remained in her comfort zone by sewing for friends and family until she was presented with the opportunity to launch an homage to her mother on the main stage at the recent Island Child Style 2019 – The SMS Edition. Nellie & Olivia opened the show as a symbolic move of stepping boldly into her next-level self, with the young models twirling prettily in tulle.
The design aesthetic of Nellie & Olivia is all things beautiful, feminine and young. Tulle is consistent throughout the collection and represents the innocence and frills of her girlhood.
