Brand architect and motivational speaker Norma Williams found herself at a pivotal juncture following a health revelation at the hairdresser.
Reflecting on her adversities, she recognised the need to share her narrative and uplift others, conquering extreme social anxiety to host her inaugural seminar with the encouragement of a friend.
Identifying as “God’s strongest soldier”, Norma recounted a two-decade journey marked by challenges, including brain surgery, a pancreatic tumour, and surviving the London bombing. She acknowledged the influence of the reticular activation system (RAS) in shaping experiences, stating, “Some people have got mouths, and they attract negative things.”

“As I lay in the hospital bed, restricted from seeing anyone, I repeatedly listened to that song. Today, amid all I went through, I feel emotional when I see my friends in the crowd,” shared Norma, underscoring the profound impact of the song on her journey.
Emphasising the power of visualisation, Norma urged the audience at the inaugural
Jamaica Observer’s All Woman Vision Board Workshop Event to adopt an athlete’s mindset, passionately desiring a better life and approaching goals with the determination of Usain Bolt crossing the finish line.
Delving into the potency of RAS, she highlighted its ability to forge pathways akin to real experiences when visualising goals, making these paths nearly indistinguishable. Norma expressed: “Your pathways are almost identical as if you’re experiencing the thing.”
Speaking about magnetic desire, she emphasised being in a good place, ready to receive the things one desires, and challenging the fear of not being worthy. Norma encouraged self-preparation for worthiness, vibrating at the desired level.
Acknowledging unrealised dreams, she stressed patience, saying, “You must be patient with your goals. Sometimes, we are not vibrating on the same level that our goals are vibrating on.”
Urging the audience to shed limitations, Norma invited them to a place saturated with gratitude, encouraging visualisation of dreams. She confessed: “I go inside myself to find motivation.”
