All is set for RFB today
ORGANISERS of Rum For Breakfast (RFB) are promising another top-notch affair at Hope Zoo in St Andrew this morning.
Michael Ammar Jr, co-director of event organisers Bacchanal Jamaica, says the entertainment package was carefully thought out.
“When we go about deciding on DJs and artistes for our events we always start with the type of event. For RFB, we need somebody who will wake you up. We usually use Patrick The Hypeman and Kevin Crown. This time around we decided to use Patrick because he’s usually the one we use for RFB. We try to use a good line-up. There’s DJ Franco and Brush 1 [Chromatic] because they’re the best Jamaican soca DJs and Marlon [Musique] because he’s a good hypeman. Tyler and Matt Campe are excellent at playing soca music. We rank them up there with the best players in Jamaica. Our line-up appeals to the different age groups,” Ammar Jr told the Jamaica Observer.
The breakfast party is slated for 7:00 am to 1:00 pm.
Bacchanal Jamaica is the island’s oldest carnival band and is in its 22nd year.
The co-director also boasted that his band has managed to build strong ties with the region’s best soca artistes, who have travelled to Jamaica on invitation to play mas.
“We were the first to bring Kes to Jamaica and Machel [Montano]. We had Blaxx, Roy Cape, Destra, Farmer Nappy, 5 Star (Akil), Patrice Roberts…you name them, we’ve brought them here,” he said.
“We treat them like family. When they come here, they’re not just coming to work. They’re coming to socialise with friends and have a good time, too,” the co-director added.
Besides RFB, Bacchanal Jamaica will be hosting Premium on July 6, J’Ouvert on July 8, and culminate things with Road March on July 10.
Costumes purchased for the 2020 carnival season are eligible for this year.
Patrons can expect loads of surprises at J’Ouvert and Road March, one of the biggest being a live performance by Patrice Roberts at the former event.
The disc jockey line-up for Road March includes Back To Basics, Barry Hype, Matt Camps, Cyclone, and more.
