Artistes line up for Campbell’s Castle Fun Day
Dancehall artistes Pablo YG, D’Angel, and Di -Ruption will be the headliners at the Campbell’s Castle Fun Day and Stage Show on December 15.
Part-proceeds will be donated to the Campbell’s Castle Primary and Infant School in Manchester, where the event will be held.
“I chose to give back to this school because that is where it all started for me. There are a few things that need to be worked on there; for example, they are trying to get a school bus and a part of the school needs paving,” organiser Susan Smith told the Jamaica Observer.
Other acts on the line-up include Shella Topstar, Terah, Ibo Fyah, 1 Topballa, Lil Kish, Shem Jay, and Jah Dale.
Music will be provided by Five Star Sound.
Adding that preparations have been going well, Smith is anticipating much support from patrons.
“I am hoping that it is very well attended and that we make a huge profit, also that the community members have a great time,” she said.
Meanwhile, principal of the institution Peta-Gaye Blake-Campbell expressed gratitude and enthusiasm about the upcoming event and the benefits it will yield.
“I’m thrilled about the family fun day which will be hosted our school. It’s a wonderful opportunity to strengthen community bonds, promote family engagement, and raise funds for the school’s benefit. I look forward to a day filled with joy and support for our school’s initiatives. We are in dire need for a safe walkway for our students; some sections of the schoolyard is in need of paving, and rails are needed to be installed on some of our steps. This event will certainly contribute to a safer learning environment. We are eternally grateful for the collaboration,” she told the Observer.
Blake-Campbell further said that she too has high hopes come Friday.
“I anticipate a day filled with joy, community bonding, and active participation. My expectations include fostering a positive atmosphere, connecting and re-connecting relationships, raising funds for the school’s needs, and creating lasting memories for students, families and by extension the Campbell’s Castle Primary and Infant School community. After all, we are royals and it can be done,” she said.
