in-demand dancehall artiste Dexta Daps says the Jamaican leg of his Trilogy tour is aimed at connecting with his local fans.

“A long time mi nuh perform inna Jamaica and do an intimate show. Bless up to Sumfest and everything, but that’s kind of a bigger crowd, where you get everybody. So, me did wah perform fi my crowd… Mi go everywhere else inna the world enuh,” he said on Thursday at the media launch of the tour held at the Summit Hotel.

The tour will begin on December 1 at Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre in Kingston. On December 2 the artiste heads to Pearly Beach in Ocho Rios, before culminating at Wavz Beach in Negril on December 3.

The tour is named after an album that will be released by the artiste on January 12, 2024.

The 15-track set will feature collaborations; however, Dexta Daps shied away from naming them.

He explained that the idea behind three consecutive shows was for the convenience of his supporters who are located all over the island.

“Mi did just wah spread it out enough so each place can get a chance to go somewhere near dem suh everybody nuh haffi worry ’bout getting to Kingston,” the entertainer added.

Born Louis Grandison, Dexta Daps last released an album in 2020 titled VENT, which included favourites like Call Me If, Twinkle, and Breaking News. His début album, Intro, was released in 2017.

As for his three-part concert tour, he promises extensive sets, with a few guest acts as the “cherries on top”.

“It’s the Trilogy, so anything [is] possible… Yuh want a full performance from Dexta Daps? A dat mi deh here fa. Mi aguh have special guests, but it’s all about giving you what you want,” he said.
