EAST promises to kick off party season with Fyah and Ice
HIGH-ENERGY, dancehall-focused party series EAST returns to the National Stadium today with its Fyah and Ice X-mas special edition, with promoters promising another undiluted experience for patrons.
Alessandro Boyd, one of the promoters of the event, described today’s installment as the official kick-off party for the Christmas period and pointed to EAST’s reputation as one of the liveliest and most well-executed parties on the scene.
“What sets us apart is the fact that we have stayed true to our raw and uncut dancehall theme, whether modern or traditional in a safe, secure, and comfortable space. We continue to raise the bar with each staging, especially as it pertains to vibes, execution, and experience. We often refer to it as the EAST Experience,” Boyd told the Jamaica Observer.
“Our patrons can expect to kick off the Christmas season in fine style, we’re going all guns blazing, metaphorically speaking of course. This is the Fyah and Ice edition,” he added.
EAST Fyah and Ice will be headlined by several top DJs with a mix of experienced and up-and-coming selectors charged with delivering the event’s usual fiery atmosphere.
“We have some top DJs in the likes of Code Red winners of the 2022 World Clash in London, DJ Mac, who is responsible for many of the top rhythms running the airwaves today, and Jugglin Masters, who won the Guinness Sounds of Greatness Sound Clash final,” Boyd said.
The promoter is again expecting a strong showing of support for tonight’s event, noting that they have developed a dedicated community of hard core dancehall lovers.
“We love them [supporters] the most, everything we put into place, conceptualise, and execute is for their best interest; they have a strong love for the dancehall culture,” Boyd said before teasing possible surprises.
“As mentioned earlier we are kicking off the Christmas season with a ‘banga’, so the patrons will have to find out on the day.”
