Munga in legal limbo
DANCEHALL deejay Munga Honorebel may no longer be represented by attorney Christopher Townsend.
The entertainer, whose given name is Damian Rhoden, is currently being held at the Hunts Bay Police Station in Kingston after being charged with the murder of Cleveland Smith approximately two and a half weeks ago.“It seems unlikely that I will be representing Mr Rhoden, as he is not able to come up with the retainer,” Townsend told the Jamaica Observer. It is also unclear as to who will legally represent the dancehall act.Munga Honorebel was first taken into police custody last Monday and released on Thursday, after he was questioned in relation to the shooting incident, which took place in the community of Ackee Walk in St Andrew.Up to press time, no court date was yet set for the entertainer, who was arrested and charged on Saturday. The dancehall deejay, who has a career spanning almost two decades, got his break in 2005 when he teamed up with producer Don Corleon. Among his tracks are Flippin Rhymes, Ina Mi Arms, and Bad From Me Born.
