Cashan urges fans to ‘Take It Easy’ amid social media pressure
Reggae singer Cashan is encouraging listeners to resist the pressure of social media and allow success to unfold naturally with her latest single, Take It Easy.
Featured on her album Here Comes Cashan, the song was inspired by the artiste’s personal experiences, current events around her and the growing influence of social media.
“I want listeners to do their best and take life one day at a time. Everyone’s blessings and success won’t come at the same time,” Cashan said.
The singer believes many people, particularly young individuals, are being consumed by the internet and the lifestyles portrayed online.
“They’ll do anything to live the lifestyle they see on the internet. This song reminds people that it is okay to build slowly while trusting that things will work out,” she explained.
The accompanying music video has already attracted more than 100,000 views within days of its release, a response that Cashan finds encouraging.
“I feel great knowing that people still appreciate good music,” she said.
Take It Easy follows the success of Roaring Lion, her collaboration with veteran reggae singer Richie Spice. While that single continues to perform well, Cashan acknowledged that more work is needed for Here Comes Cashan to reach her desired audience.
The artiste also recently performed at an event alongside Richie Spice, describing the experience as special.
“Richie Spice is one of my favourites, so it is always a pleasure working with him,” she shared.
Cashan and her team are now preparing an extensive promotional campaign for Take It Easy, convinced that its message needs to be heard.
Her next release will be From West, a collaboration with Tuff Like Iron. She also has several upcoming appearances planned.
Quoting Bob Marley, Cashan confidently declared: “Dem ago tired fi see mi face”.
