Temple Club take on Container Enterprise in domino league
Container Enterprise are set to face Temple Domino Club and 876ixers are to battle 85 Red Hills Road as the quarter-final round continues in the 2023 Winners Domino Community League at Mystic Sports Bar and Lounge on Thursday.
Temple are coming off a dominant win last week and would want to keep the momentum going, as a win versus Container Enterprise could book their ticket to the competition’s semi-final round. It won’t be as simple as snatching sweets from a baby since the Container Enterprise squad, after losing their first game in the quarter-finals, will want to make amends. This game promises to be an entertaining shoot-out.
The 876ixers team and Red Hills Road will enter this contest with one goal in mind: to come out on top. Both clubs have lost their first games, and a win here will boost either team’s chances of advancing to the semi-final round. For the losing team, it could be the end of the journey.
Last week, Olympic Domino Club defeated 876ixers Domino Club 150-136 in a dramatic Zone 2 quarter-final match at the Hagley Park Road-based Mystic Sports Bar.
Olympic began the match firing on all tables to grab an early lead. Olympic established their dominance by racing to a 14-point lead over 876ixers at 50-36.
However, a change in playing styles and a switch in tables sparked an exhilarating comeback for the 876ixers, who outscored Olympic 75-70 and held a five-point lead at the half.
On restart, there was no shortage of adrenaline as both sides exchanged powerful blows to continue the tense struggle. Olympic emerged as the stronger of the two teams in the end, winning by 14 points.
Also in Zone 2, Dilston All-Star upset Container Enterprise 150-144 in a close and exciting game at the same venue.
From start to finish, it was a fiercely competitive struggle between the two teams, but Dilston All-Stars proved to be the superior team.
Olympic top the standings by two points, the same as Dilston All-Stars but with a higher points differential. Olympic has a 14-point advantage over Dilston.
In Zone 1, Starz Domino Club defeated 85 Red Hills Road Domino Club in the quarter-final round by a score of 150-144, while Temple Domino Club defeated Likkle Almond Tree Domino Club by a score of 150-131.
From the outset, Temple asserted themselves and led Likkle Almond Tree 76-66 at the half-time break. Temple never let up their pace on the restart to win easily.
