Top American horse racing announcer Andy Serling expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership between Supreme Ventures Racing and Entertainment Limited (SVREL), Fox, and NYRA, highlighting its positive impact on the local racing industry.

Serling said he eagerly anticipates an exciting day at the races on Mouttet Mile day at Caymanas Park this Saturday.

He is set to present on both Fox Network and NYRA Network, will lead a three-man team to Jamaica, including Robert Klatt and Eldon Phillips, on Mouttet Mile race day. His role involves providing expertise, insight, and horse analysis to assist horse racing enthusiasts in making informed picks for each race.

“I can’t tell you how excited and happy I am to be here in Jamaica. I have so many friends who are Jamaicans in New York that come to the track every day, and for so many years, they kept telling me, ‘You have to go to Jamaica, and you have to be there to see what horse racing is like out there’,” said Serling.

“I have wanted to come, and so I am incredibly excited to be here, and I am looking forward to Saturday at the Mouttet Mile. I don’t know that much about racing in Jamaica, so I am trying to learn,” he added.

Having engaged in conversations with Michael Cain, who is SVREL’s track handicapper, Serling expressed eagerness to familiarise himself with the intricacies of Jamaican horse racing. Despite acknowledging that he still has much to learn, he looks forward to immersing himself in the experience, especially with the Mouttet Mile on the horizon.

“I was talking to Michael, who is the track handicapper, and he is giving me a little bit of stuff, and they are filling me in a little bit, but I still have a lot to learn, but I am looking forward to learning about it, and so I am looking forward to Saturday,” he said.

Continuing, Serling said, “The Mouttet Mile is a very big thing because for us to be showing it on Fox Sports as part of our broadcast in New York is a huge thing for us. We are really excited because this is the beginning of our relationship. This is not a one-off thing, and hopefully, this is the start of something that will continue for many years,” Serling remarked.

Expressing anticipation for the energetic Jamaican crowd, Serling is excited about the prospect of capturing the essence of the event for Fox Sports.

“I am looking forward to seeing the crowd because we have a lot of Jamaicans in New York at the track, and they are incredibly loud and excited. I have heard that the racing here is like that,” he said. “We are doing stuff for Fox Sports, so we are hoping to interview a lot of people from the track to get a flavour of what is going on here, and I will be talking to some of the fans as well.”

Serling expressed his eagerness to be part of a significant event in Jamaica and contribute to the growth of the horse racing industry on the island. His presence at the Mouttet Mile marks the beginning of a potentially enduring relationship between Fox Sports and the Jamaican horse racing community.

The Mouttet Mile, boasting a substantial purse of US$150,000, is expected to draw a large crowd of racing enthusiasts and is known for featuring top-quality thoroughbred races.
