The King's Plate, which honours the former talented A King Is Born takes centre stage tomorrow (April 1, 2023) on the 10-race card at Caymanas Park.
The Overnight Allowance contest for three year olds and upwards will have the nine horses entered travelling 7 ½ furlongs (1,500m).
Below is the analysis of the nine runners who are entered for the gallop.
1. SIR JOHN: (5 b g by Natural Selection – Luscious) – Sir John has no chance whatsoever of winning this one.
2. EL PROFESOR: (8 b g by Casual Trick – The Principal) – Shows up every now and then with surprising runs. However, El Profesor, based on his last four efforts can be left alone.
3. FREEDOM STREET: (4 b g by Uncaptured – Nofashionsense) – Did extremely well to reach this level. Freedom Street should make his presence felt early on in the race, before fading away as he gets accustomed to this new level.
4. EAGLE ONE (USA): (6 b g by Astrology – Frisky Cheerleader) – Was expected to win the Henry Jaghai Memorial Cup over 6 furlongs (1,200m) on March 19. Then Eagle One finished second, 4 lengths behind Unruly Boss. With a more relaxed pace expected here, Eagle One can set the record straight but might be hampered by the distance.
5. CRIMSON: (7 b g by Nuclear Wayne – Sarah Barracuda) – Finished second behind stablemate Sistren Treasure over 9 furlongs and 25 yards (1,820m) on March 11. Crimson will have no problems with this one-turn event and is expected to run another pleasing race.
6. POWER RANKING: (4 b c by Casual Trick – Escandalosa) – Going to find these too hot to handle. .
7. BIG BIG DADDY: (7 dkb h by Natural Selection – Just A Flutter) – Proving to be too costly to follow. Big Big Daddy should only be taken on trust here.
8. MONEY MONSTER: (6 b g by Casual Trick – She's Traditional) – Very consistent sort who should have already be saddled as a winner. Money Monster was expected to lead home rivals on March 11 over the circular course (9 furlongs and 25 yards) but finished third behind stablemates Sistren Treasure and Crimson. Despite the presence of Crimson here, Money Monster can turn the tables and beat the rest.
9. PRESS CONFERENCE: (5 ch g by Twilight Time – Lady Shankari) – A winner on last who is going to find it very difficult to repeat.
