15-y-o schoolboys among four charged in Portmore robbery
ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — Two 15-year-old schoolboys were among four persons charged by police in connection with a robbery in Portmore, St Catherine last Friday.
The four, who were charged at the St Catherine South CIB on Friday, October 21, were held shortly after the robbery following swift action by the police in the municipality.
They are Janiel ‘Harry’ Lewi, also called ‘Harry’, 22, a labourer from Passagefort Drive, Portmore; Khiel ‘British’ Morrison, 19, from Harbour Heights, Harbour View, Kingston; a student from a Corporate Area high school and a student from a high school in Portmore.
The four were charged with robbery with aggravation and conspiracy to rob after being questioned in the presence of their attorneys on Friday.
It was reported that about 9:30 pm on Friday, October 14, 2022, a couple was walking along the roadway in Braeton when they were pounced upon by the four males who alighted from a car.
They were reportedly robbed of cash, cellular phones and other personal items at knife-point.
An alarm was raised, and the police were alerted. Members of the St Catherine South Quick Response Team responded and intercepted the getaway car along Dawkins Drive, and the four accused were detained.
